KIDS TAEKWONDO
Taekwondo builds healthy kids:
Taekwondo classes for kids are a great work out. Your child will breathe better, eat better, and sleep better. Children who take TKD are slimmer, make better decisions about food, and in general, learn to take care of themselves. You won’t see any of our Black Belt Students smoking or using drugs, now or ever.Positive Attitude
Kids in our program learn to have a positive attitude. You won’t need to repeat yourself over and over, or argue with your child like many parents do. Kids learn to be respectful of their parents and teachers. You might even catch your child saying: Yes Ma’am or Yes Sir!
Self Confidence
It’s true; kids who take TKD develop better self-confidence. They’re encouraged to take chances, to push themselves further than they thought possible. The success they experience through TKD teaches them that they can be successful at anything if they truly believe they can and are willing to work hard. Improved confidence leads to better grades, a better circle of friends, better performance in sports and extracurricular activities in general.

Self-Defense
TKD teaches two forms of self-defense. One is physical; your child will improve his or her strength, flexibility and overall health. Additionally, your child will learn to strike with tremendous power and effectiveness. Hopefully your child will never be picked on or need to fight… but should the occasion arise, shouldn’t everyone know how to protect themselves? The second form of self-defense TKD teaches is internal. Children learn to spot danger and avoid dangerous people, places and activities. TKD can help your child avoid the need for physical confrontation. This second form of self-defense is perhaps the more valuable of the two.
Improved Report Cards
Our curriculum is designed to teach children the importance of concentration. Improved concentration means that your child will learn more at school. Therefore, you can expect your child to receive better grades for both academics and attitude.

Our Taekwondo family classes will provide you with a great opportunity for you to teach your children by example. From both of your efforts, you’ll give your child the gift of:

ADULT TAEKWONDO & HAPKIDO
Improve Your Fitness Level
Our Taekwondo and Hapkido classes will help you increase or maintain your flexibility, build stamina and endurance and improve your balance. Training includes a proper warm-up and both aerobic and anaerobic activities. As you progress through the belt ranking system, you’ll also be progressing physically.
Increase Your Own Self Confidence
Whether you’ve always been an athlete — or believe that the term “sport” isn’t in your vocabulary, you’ll see yourself gain skill and knowledge in our program.

KUMDO
What is Kumdo?
Kumdo literally means, the way of the sword. Rich in both tradition and techniques, Kumdo roots go back nearly a century and are based on methods far older.
Sharpen Your Mind
Due to its nature, the study of Kumdo is different than many martial arts. As you can imagine, in a real sword fight, a single mistake can be fatal. While Kumdo is practiced with bamboo weapons, the techniques are the same. Concentration and focus are perhaps more the keys to success than physical prowess. Practitioners learn to plan attacks conservatively as counter attacks can be very swift — even from an opponent that is physically smaller. You will learn to clear your mind of other thoughts and move with purpose as you seek to master the sword.
Improve Your Fitness
While Kumdo seeks to eliminate unnecessary movement in favor of efficiency, it is a journey that requires work. The physics of precisely attacking and defending with a sword will increase your strength and endurance while improving your reaction timing.
Classes
Kumdo is an art requiring special equipment (a practice sword and protective gear). Classes are held on Saturday at 12:30 pm.

SPARRING
Improve Your Skills
Sparring class is a great way to improve your skills. You’ll learn how to apply the techniques learned in other classes against an opponent.
Join the Fun
Classes are designed to work with students of all levels — from sparring beginners to advanced students. Students with an interest in sparring are encouraged to attend the class once achieving the rank of Orange belt in Taekwondo or Hapkido.
Although sparring class does involve contact, it’s important to understand that there are strict controls for the safety of everyone involved. We follow WTF rules for Olympic sparring, which vary based on age.
In order to participate in sparring class, you must have appropriate sparring gear. A limited amount of sparring gear is available for students who want to try a sparring class before investing in gear of their own. If you have any questions, please ask Headmaster Kim.tion goes here.
